It has come to my attention that there are individuals who run their own K-pop fashion blogs and post their requests here. When we fulfill their requests, they take that information and post them and pass them off as their own finds without crediting us.

I find this outright offensive and extremely disrespectful to the writers here who volunteer their precious time looking for the items.  Perhaps the offenders do not know better, so I reached out to the people we suspect for this kind of behavior asking them to credit us. The ones who do what we ask will be forgiven.

Here at K-world Style, we try our best to credit everyone who provide us tips and we expect the same thing done for our tips. All that we ask is for you to credit us if we fulfilled your request and you post it somewhere else.

Right now, the request page is still open to readers who make genuine requests for their own personal purposes such as cosplaying or wanting to buy the item. I will delete requests posted by the offenders who do not comply to my message so the other writers do not waste their time on them.

The problem is we cannot catch everyone who is posting our request fulfillments as their own finds. If I keep seeing this type of obnoxious and rude behavior, the only way to completely stop it from happening is to shut down the request page and stop answering any requests. It would be a shame for a group of bad apples to ruin it for everybody else because K-world Style really does want to help others.

Dear readers, if you suspect any writers, blogs, or website engaged in the aforementioned type of activity, please report it to us at kworldstyle@gmail.com. It would be really appreciated!

Do not take without proper credit!

Can you also leave the browser, brightness and system (Mac, Linux, Windows, etc.)?
This way I see how the site looks like on different browsers and screen sizes and adjust according to them. I am on Safari and I have tried the site on Firefox and there were some difference.

For the 4th anniversary, I've updated the layout!
The loading time much slower.
Some things are gone, lots of new things. Even with the updates there are still some bugs.
Will post a full report soon!
Tell us what you like or don't like about the new-ish layout!

The writers are all busy so events of anniversary are post-poned for now.

Maria
Hi lovelies, there are some things the staff wants to get off our chest.
So we originally had a full section on our opinions of comments. We totally get that you don't want to read that, so here's a summary:
  • we love getting comments
  • we wish more people would comment when we ask a question
  • we want to become a community of people interested in kpop fashion, which means there has to be some back and forth conversation
  • we feel like for some posts we put so much effort in, and then no one comments... for these, it seems no one wants that kind of post, so we won't post on that topic in the future
  • we want to know our readers more
  • SO... please comment!
If you want each writers' opinions, let us know.

EDIT: Since no one replied on the weekly round-ups saying they are useful...they are discontinued.

Requests: changes, lack of appreciation, other stuff:

Our requesting system is seriously not working. Here are some rules/ changes that we're implementing.

1) We do not take requests that randomly pop up in a post.
e.g.

  • "can you find where the shoes are from"(no)
  • "what else is she wearing" (no)
  • on a 4minute article - "what was f(x) wearing yesterday?" (?)

  • That means, don't comment on a post with a request, put it in the request area and follow the proper requesting guidelines (no videos, only two items at a time, etc.)!

    2) We just want to remind you that we aren't obligated to find your requests. Requests take up a lot of time, and it's just as disappointing for us to not find them as it is for you. Please don't badger us about your request. We promise, we see them, but requests are done in our time, and sometimes, we just can't find an item.

    3) We do not like being under-appreciated. If we fulfilled your request, we spent our time on it to help you. It would be very nice to have some sort of thank you (and tons of people already do this). Make a comment on the request post, shoot us an email, share the post with some friends. We love to help, but it sucks feeling like no one sticks around to actually see their request fulfilled.

    4) For passerbys who take advantage of our system...we don't like you. Being anonymous mixes these people up with those who actually read our stuff (whom we want to help!). That's why we are no longer emailing anyone. We post requests, whether you see it or not is not our responsibility.

A new thing for Maria is that if you are anonymous, I have no intention to help you.
Being anonymous also has the lowest priority since we are more keen to help those who we recognize.

    -----

Guys please note that we spend hours on this blog and we are not paid for what we do...our 'earnings' are your support. Also, if you can't ask nicely, it makes us sad, and we don't feel like helping someone who's mean to us.

Hey guys, most of you on here for long enough have know me. I'm the maknae and the male fashion blogger on here. So today I'm bring you my personal style since most readers had requested a lot for our personal style.

Before we start, I just want to get this out of the way, I'm just an ordinary boy who's starting his freshman year in high school and these pictures are from my personal Instagram!

Outfits1: is what I would normally wear to school most of the time or to some important events. I don't know is it just me or what! But I like to dress up for school! Am I weird?!?

Outfit 2: these are probably my go to summer outfit,
cause it so comfy yet still make you look stylish!
When I think of summer, I think of comfort and style because who doesn't want to be comfortable in a freaking hot weather!!!  Living in the state, you have to make sure to adjust to the weather, you never know if it just rain or it will be really cool or brezzy. It's unpredictable!

Outfit 3: this was what I wore to my cruise party back in June. It wasn't what I planned on wearing, but it turned out looking fine. It took me 3 months to find the right blazer! I was glad I'd bought that! I uasually think that some blazer can make me look weird in it but I was fortunate enough to find some good blazer and without paying the price of $200-400. If you mens out there looking to buy a very well fitted blazer check out Zara's Men they have amazing blazers at a good price.

Well, what do you think about it? I've been updating most of my OOTD or Outfit Of The Day on my personal Instagram lately. I was inspired by many K-dramas as to how the men in there look so put together and so sharp yet give it an element of modern day men in a chic way. Thanks taking your precious time to read this. Leave a comment below telling which look you like best or how you want me to try something new or ransoms comments. I'd love to know!!! Thanks again !!!!!

    Hello guys, it's Maria.
For the last week, we have been in contact with Hahna of K-Popular from FM 101.3 MHz in Seoul. K-Popular has hosted many famous Korean stars, recently including Bumkey, Skarf, Andrew Choi, SALTNPEPPER, Geeks, Electroboys, 15& and more. For a comprehensive list, please click here.

This was kinda last minute, and I was the only writer to guest.
So, if anyone could tune in, that would be great. You can also listen after it's gone live.
I'm was on the Thursday show:

Warning: I'm quite tired, and this is my first time so it might be bad.

    Here's their contact information:

This post was supposed to go up last night, Wednesday at 11:30pm EST to correlate to the actual airing of the show in Korea but due to scheduling mishaps, it went on at the wrong time.
Either way, I appreciate the offer and go check them out below.

You do need Windows Media Player Extension for HTML5 to listen online. I learned that the hard way.

    Thanks for your time.

    Maria :D

I'm sure you've all heard of Lee Hi and 15&. Those two groups (among others) were made possible because of the cool competition show, SBS Kpop Star.
But what does that have to do with us?
Well, Kworld Style has joined SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, Hyundai, allkpop.com, and KASA as sponsors for SBS Kpop Star.

If anyone is auditioning, you could share your audition outfit with us, or if anyone needs advice on what to wear to the audition you all can ask us!
Edit: If you need hair/makeup ideas, please email us a picture (info@kworldstyle.com)

The application deadlines for the audition are as follows:
    Chicago & Atlanta : 8/3
    LA : 8/10
Click here for more information about the US auditions.

    Quick tips:
-Be comfortable, especially if you dancing
-Be yourself; they're there to see you.
-Keep it natural (hair & makeup)
-If you have contacts, wear them. Glasses will reflect stage lights weirdly.
See more in the comments below.

I'm comfy in my warm flannel ^.^
Hello Kstylists, on our last poll, it seems like a bunch of people (like 70% of you) wanted to know about our personal style. So here's mine.

I osculate between relaxed, rustic rebel and structured, button downs and blazers, city chic. I know, a bit odd consider I blog about Kpop style, but I guess at heart I'm a bit more alternative than hip-hop/pop.

Why don't I dress how Kpop stars dress?

    1) First off all, finances. It's no secret that Korean celebrities, or, more often, their stylists, spend big bucks on designer frocks. While I could find knock offs --and I have bought some in the past-- the quality would suffer.

    4minute loves bright colors
    2) I prefer comfy-cozy or sophisticated-sexy. What I find attractive is slightly different than the majority of Kpop. I like two polar ends of fashion: the I-just-want-to-be-comfortable look or the I-am-classy-and-hot-and-can't-be-stopped look. Both of these don't find their ways into Kpop music videos very often. Idols tend to be dressed in ridiculously layered, bright pieces that either accentuate their aegyo or their sex-appeal. And with good reason...their fashion is a HUGE part of retaining a loyal fanbase and attracting new fans to not only their music, but their image. However, the majority of the time when I wake up in the morning, I am not looking to impress a crowd of adoring fans. And just from personal preference, I gravitate toward a cooler, darker, more muted color palette. As far as showing skin? I'm not against it, but I generally wear long pants or sweaters, so it's not something that happens often.

    2NE1 Adidas Style
    3) My style is not hip-hop. I have no reason to wear sports jerseys, track suits, or snapbacks. I do own caps, jerseys, and high-tops, but I don't wear them often. I don't like dealing with a lot of colors or accessories; it's just not my personality. I like simple things, and hip-hop fashion is generally a little more detailed. I'm also quite, well, pale, and I think that I don't seem like the kind of person who could pull off leggings and an oversized Adidas' jacket. And because of what I've determined to be the boundaries of what I can wear, my style has developed within that box. As a result, I favor leather over mesh. Button downs over halter tops. Jeans over leggings.

I guess, in a way, I've let my pre-conceived notions of who I am determine what I wear. I love heels, but I don't wear them often, no matter how many I own. Dresses are cute, but I always think I'm not the kind of girl who could pull them off. Don't be like me! Experiment, experiment, experiment. If you find you like something, keep it. If you find you don't like something, well, at least you learned a little bit more about your own style. And style is a very important part of who we are as people.

I definitely appreciate Kpop Fashion, and would love to try it out (Hello, Jeremy Scott!) at some point in my life, but I think now I'll stick to flannels and denim.

What's your style like? Either tell us in the comments below, or send us a picture here. I'm really hoping I get to see some of what you guys like to wear!!

If you want to read it, go here.

    5) We got our own social tags.
