K-world Style (K-pop & K-Drama Fashion): Magazine: Miscellaneous

It's been a while since we've done a "hot or not". Let's take a look at the male actors in some of S. Korea's top magazines. I think the cold weather has led to some cold shoots. In general, I would love to see some more dynamic actions in these shots.

Haven't posted a request in a while ...sorry about that but I can't seem to recognize the items you request and also please post requests about recent items worn by k-pop idols :(

Now for the request. An anonymous reader requested the long clouded jacket that Taemin wore for the WGM photoshoot.

Taemin's jacket is from Wooyoungmi S/S 2013 collection.

Korean eyewear brand, Gentle Monster, is really popular with celebrities.

It's been seen recently on B1A4, Seo in Guk, Roy Kim, BAP's Yongjae, and more.

INFINITE's Sunggyu wore a pair in the June 2013 issue of "The Star" Magazine.

Sungyu wore the Shadow Fish MV1 glasses. Buy them here for $260.

Hi guys, this is a new feature brought to you by KD and Lauren. We're going to share our opinions on Kpop Fashion from the week. Welcome to the April magazine edition :).

HOT:

1. G-Dragon for Allure

Lauren: Here's a busy background done right. GD looks great in a muscle tank. And while I'm not a fan of the mass of necklace he has going on, it works. I really love the pink and blue feather in his hair, and I think the overall "whiteness" of his look does well against the rich scenery. Contrast and harmony ring key in this great shot from Allure.

KD: Overall, this shot is amazing. I think he looks amazing. Good Job, Allure, you sure know how to make girls drools over GD.

2. Miss A's Fei in 1st Look Magazine

Lauren: This picture gets an 'A' from me. Fei looks stunning in subtle way. The stylists stuck to warm colors in the clothing (and meat), which contrasted the metallic, cool feeling of the scene. There is nice balance in the picture and enough visual interest that the looker does not get bored, but not too much that to focus is drawn away from Fei. I especially appreciate her headband and her makeup. Good job, First Look.

KD: Fei looks amazing, the choice of clothing fits her perfectly, although she reminds of a mom cooking. I’m loving her on Master Chef Korea Celebrity, have you watch it yet?

3. Sistar19 for CeCi Magazine

Lauren: Let it be know that good setup and nice photography go a long way in selling a product! I really love this shot. I say I would not have put the retro hair on the girls, but the twinsies look is working with the over-sized chair and table set. This is a shot done right. My favorite fashion piece has to be Hyorin's skirt, but I also like their shoes. Overall, this is clean and stylish. 10/10 for CeCi.

KD: Sistar19, nothing much to say. I’m loving the twin concept. One word, "GORGEOUS"!

NOT:

1. Lee Som for Vogue Girl

Lauren: Lee Som is really very pretty, but I couldn't see any of her natural charm in this awful picture. The poor girl was styled in a yellow on yellow, suede, track-suit-with-shorts-as-the-bottoms combination that was just not working. Not even to mention my loathing for most things Juicy Couture (say hello to the gross tangerine tee shirt). I mean, really, who even wears an athletic tee in a fashion shoot?! The only saving graces this shot has is good makeup and a nice, albeit distracting, scenery. Sorry, Vogue Girl, I'm just not feeling it.

KD: I’m just not feeling it, there’s too much going on. Not loving the look.

2. CL for i-D (a British Magazine)

Lauren: CL is my bias in 2ne1, but I'll be the first to admit that her (and Jeremy Scott's) fashion sense is not always on par with what I think is attractive. We see this no better than in the picture at right. In all overall fuzzy suit (with a tail!!), CL reminds me of Big Bird from Sesame St. rather than a fashion icon. Likewise, her skiing (?) outfit on the far right does not pair well with the cap, which is in a slightly lighter orange, and her shoes, which are some sort of heel and sneaker Frankenstein. I only hope that as Jeremy's "muse", CL can steer him back on the path of good fashion, featuring license plate shoes and cute skirts, and away from this over-dramatic train wreck.

KD: Let just say, CL looks like a bigfoot in the first pic. I love CL, but this sometime her fashion choices don’t really resonate with me. She’s like the GAGA of Kpop. The second picture looks as if a paint machine explode on her. Sorry Jeremy Scott, but these looks are just not my cup of tea.

Sweaters. Ugh, so nice and comfy especially now.
What a great tie-in as Wonder Girls all donned sweaters for their feature in the of 50th edition of The Big Issue. Ok, bad opening but what really makes a good opening?

First Sohee. Her sweater is not only by Alexander Wang but T by Alexander Wang. It is a acid-washed chunky knit wool sweater. Sold out in most large online retailers but it was available at net-a-porter for 155$. Here's the link so you can know the many details of this item.

Lastly, let's go with Sunye. This one is an 3.1 Phillip Lim boxy cable sweater. Specifically it is a cable knit pullover in the colours navy blue and ash grey. Currently in-stock at Browns for 620 Pounds here.

Her sweater has quite a bit of contrast. It is black and white and also warm and cold.

As you can see there are two fairly large holes in the armpit areas. To me that's quite an inconvenience

but I guess it great for those who love individuality. For Christmas, glowing Rudolph noses are so last year, wear a red LED undershirt have glowing pits instead.

This was requested by somebody with the very, ehm, describing name I_Am_A_Violent_Girl. Thus the title, kinda ~ :P And yeah I'm being pretty fast with the requests lately, I know xD But I don't have much else to post so...That explains it, doesn't it?

For a magazine of some sort, I don't know which one, Infinite Hoya wore a sweater from Ground Zero.

This is from a collection inspired by anime-series Gundam, which is pretty cool actually ~ Many male K-pop stars seems to like Gundam :)

Yes! Finally something to post with this lovely girl!

Another former contestant from SBS K-pop Star Survival. I absolutely adore this girl and have done so ever since I saw her in the last couple of episodes of popular audition program, K-pop Star Survival! She's simply such a darling ~

Even though she didn't win, she quickly got a contract with musical powerhouse JYPE. She's under their sub-label AQ Ent. though (same company as Miss A). If you don't know Baek Ayeon yet, it's time to get to know her :P

In the recent edition of Inkigayo Magazine, Ayeon looked adorable in a blazer from H&M with a print aparently called Bird Print. I couldn't find this anywhere, but I have to go to my own local H&M to see if they have it! I want this one ~ it's so adorable :D

I'm running low on finds recently....

There's not much going on in K-pop these days anyways. Chuseok is being celebrated all over Korea (and also in China), so everybody is taking a break ~ I find it nice. For all those busy idols to finally get a tiny break ^__^

Anyways ~ Here's one rather vague find and a more solid one (even though a bit late). I have no idea which magazine the first find is from. But one thing I do know is where I got the picture - Miss A Jia's Twitter!

The other find happens to come from her Twitter also! :P

First off:

This isn't a dress. It's actually a set consisting of a top/blouse and a skirt. Both parts is from Fleamadonna and is part of the F/W 2012 collection. This print is called Black Blue Calf...Figured they'd try to make it cuter by calling it calf instead of cow xD

I don't have a buy link for the skirt, but I do have one for the top. Get it here for 230.000 won (only available in M it seems).

Second find!

SBS K-pop Star contestant Baek Ayeon just debuted not long ago. She is in the same company as Miss A meaning AQ Ent. and not JYP Ent. ~ Thus Miss A celebrated her debut together with her ^__^

In one of the pictures uploaded to Twitter, Jia wore sweater with a flame print. At first I thought about Ashish...but he makes clothes with lots of embellishments, shiny fabric and especially paillettes, so this couldn't be his even though he has made a dress with a REALLY similar motif.

And seems I was right! It is from urban clothing brand Unif.

This is just a quick post ~

Recently, Miss A was featured as special guest editors on magazine CeCi in a bonus, celebratory edition of the magazine. Actually, the only reason why I found this is because Eliza made a post with the same shoes a couple of days ago xD

Min is wearing high heeled shoes from Ruthie Davis! Apparently they are called Cactus Fluo and are from her S/S 2011 collection. This also means that sadly, there is no buy link. Old seasons are hard to find anywhere, except maybe on Ebay.

I think these shoes ROCK, but I must admit I'd rather have them in another colour than highlighter-yellow. I think highlighter-blue, or just a light blue would be better! Pink and blue look cool together! :P So does pink and orange.

For their Japan Arena tour, KEY wore the same hoodie he had on for his Cosmopolitan spread. this hoodie was pretty interesting with its feathers and all resembling an indian chief's headdress. searching google like there was tomorrow, i finally found the outfit he was wearing! :D

So, from my aunt in japan, I was able to get my hands on JJ magazine featuring DBSK!!! XD XD XD XD XD XD XD

And usually on japanese magazines they post what clothing the "models" are wearing.. !! Mostly for these top artists, it's usually the "stylist's own clothing" hence they don't even put the brand name down, but I found some that DBSK were wearing ^^.

UNFORTUNATELY I couldnt find anything for Changmin T_T T_T T_T so sad T_T

Junsu is wearing a V-neck from Halb. It's from their 2010 Spring Summer collection. I found a similar (possibly a fake, since it goes by the brand Halb...) here for 14,700 yen.

So just a forewarning. I was really interested in what Polyvore was, and so I tried to do something with it, and realized that it's basically the same thing with mashing up pictures on PowerPoint. FAIL. Anyway, this is what I was working on.
I just saw Super Junior M's Numero Shoot, and have to say kind of got freaked out with the makeup and such (Ryeowook, what do you think you're doing with the wine bottle.. and omg Kyuhyun why are you crawling under a table, and holy cow is that you Donghae?!?! O_O)
They wore quite a bit of Adidas X Jeremy Scott things.... I tried to do something with that and Polyvore to see if it would spice up things, but it didn't T_T. But I didnt want to waste all that time, so I'll post it up. (There is a find that took along time to search up, and I'm proud of lol)
